High Sierra Heating & Air

A complete brand transformation for a Reno-based HVAC company, delivering professional identity and digital presence.

The Story

When temperatures drop below freezing in the Sierra Nevada foothills or soar past 100 degrees in the high desert summer, Reno residents need an HVAC company they can trust. High Sierra Heating & Air had built that trust through years of reliable service, but their outdated branding didn't reflect the quality of their work.

The owner came to us with a clear vision: compete with the big national franchises while staying true to their roots as a locally-owned, family-operated business. They needed a brand that would look just as professional on a wrapped service van as it would on a Google search result, one that told customers "we're from here, we understand your climate, and we've got you covered."

The Process

We started where every good brand begins: listening. Reviewing the company's Facebook page revealed what customers actually cared about, prompt response times, transparent pricing, and technicians who explained problems in plain English. These insights shaped everything that followed.

The "High Sierra" name was a gift. We leaned into the mountain imagery, developing a logomark that captures the iconic Sierra ridgeline with subtle airflow elements woven into the peaks. The color palette pairs a deep alpine blue with warm sunset orange, colors that feel natural against both snow-capped mountains and desert sage.

For the website, we prioritized what homeowners need most when their AC dies in August: a phone number, service areas, and a way to schedule fast. Every design decision filtered through one question, does this help someone get their home comfortable again?

The Solution

The finished brand system gave High Sierra everything they needed to present a unified, professional image across every customer touchpoint. The primary logo works beautifully on everything from embroidered uniforms to billboard advertising, while a simplified icon version handles social media profiles and favicon duties.

The website launched with mobile-first design, recognizing that most emergency HVAC searches happen on phones. Clear service descriptions, upfront pricing information, and a prominent click-to-call button reduced friction for panicked homeowners. A simple scheduling form captures leads around the clock.

We rounded out the project with vehicle wrap templates that turn every service van into a rolling billboard, professional estimate and invoice templates, and a social media kit that makes maintaining an active online presence effortless. High Sierra now has a brand that matches the quality of service they've been delivering for years.
